Some suggested day hikes are:
Packwood Lake: Trail still has snow as does the lake shore. Several people have been in already this season both with and without snowshoes including a group of Boy Scouts on May 18th.
Upper trail is about 4.5 miles long and has more snow. Lower trail is about 3.5 miles long is easier to hike.

Backbone Lake:Access to Backbone lake is now denied due to a bridge outage.

Ohanapecosh Hot Springs/Silver Falls: Trail is self-guided and takes off from the Visitor Center at Ohanapecosh. It's about one mile to the falls and trail should be snow-free. This trail continues on and joins other trails so those looking for a longer day hike can continue on until they hit snow.

Jody's bridge to La Wis Wis Campground:This trail is no longer available due to a bridge outage.

Other trails in the area should be snow-free soon including, Bluff Lake Trail and Glacier Lake Trail.
